Services for
Blind and Visually Impaired can assist
individuals to:
 | Keep
their current job
|
 | Obtain
their first job, or a more appropriate
job
|
 | Obtain
skills needed to get a job
|
Services to be
provided are determined by the individual,
working closely with a professional Vocational
Rehabilitation Counselor. These services are
based on an individual's needs and their
vocational goal.
Rehabilitation
services include, but are not limited to the
following:
 | Job
placement

 | Low
vision assessment and training
|
 | Instruction
in independent travel
|
 | Occupational
skills training
|
 | Technology
and rehabilitation engineering
|
 | Consultative
services on ADA, job and task analysis,
and reasonable job accommodations
|
 | Vocational
guidance and counseling
|
 | Personal
and household management
|
Anyone is
eligible if they can provide documentation of
their blindness or visual impairment through an
eye report, and the eye condition is creating
barriers to getting, keeping, or seeking
employment.
